Thanks to the financial support provided by Sweden in the context of the Cooperation Agreement with the General Police Inspectorate (GPI), the Moldovan Institute for Human Rights (IDOM) carries out monitoring of the conditions of detention of persons held in police custody, trainings and strategic litigation activities.
This year, we have decided to come up with something new in supporting the persons held in police custody and thought it pertinent to start the Campaign “Good Deeds Make Great Changes.”
In the context of promoting good deeds that produce major changes in people’s lives, regardless of their situation, at the initiative of the staff of the Detention and Escort Section of GPI, in agreement with IDOM and with the support of the Parson of the Ghidighici Church, Priest Maxim Melinti, on 25 April 2019, we visited the country’s remand centers and distributed baskets with traditional Easter products to the detainees.
