Securing Respect for the Rights of Beneficiaries of Temporary Placement Centers of Persons with Disabilities and of Psychiatric Hospitals

The Moldovan Institute for Human Rights (IDOM) in cooperation with the Ministry of Health, Labor and Social Protection (MHLSP) on 6 March inst. held a round table with the generics “Securing Respect for the Rights of Beneficiaries of Temporary Placement Centers of Persons with Disabilities and of Psychiatric Hospitals. Findings and Recommendations.” The event took place at Summit Events & Conference Center, in Chișinău.

The findings and recommendations made after the monitoring and evaluation exercise for the 6 Temporary Placement Centers for Persons with Disabilities and 3 Psychiatric Hospitals, conducted in 2018, were presented at the event.

The meeting was structured in sessions and panel discussions that aimed at clearing up the key issues related to the areas concerned as well as the respect for human rights and fundamental freedoms.

To note that IDOM will soon collect the respective recommendations of the authorities concerned and will publish the reports on its website www.idom.md, in the column “Reports.”

This activity was organized under the project “Promoting Effective Use of Human Rights With Regards to Persons with Mental Disabilities in View of Protecting Their Rights,” implemented by IDOM with the financial support provided by the Embassy of Finland in Bucharest and by Sweden.
